Scotland Cay is a unique 2 x 1/2 mile island in the Abacos featuring more than one mile of uninterrupted white sand beach, lagoon park, 3600 foot paved runway, marina, tennis court, 6-7 miles of paved road, and all the privacy one could wish for. Transportation on the island is by golf cart, bicycle, or on foot. Trucks are limited to construction contractors. For communication with the "outside world," Scotland Cay has access to wireless Internet and Batelco cell phone service.

Scotland Cay is conveniently located just 185 miles east of Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (FXE) and is a short flight from Treasure Cay or Marsh Harbour, where you would clear customs. Many of the 60+ homeowners on Scotland Cay come and go on their own planes (including Citations and Mitsubishis), while others use charter flights. From Scotland Cay it is approximately 8 miles to Marsh Harbour, 2 miles to the settlement of Great Guana Cay, 4 miles to Man-O-War Cay, and 9 miles to Hopetown on Elbow Cay, all featuring convenient shopping, restaurants and church locations. A ferry service provides regular scheduled trips to/from other islands. Because Scotland Cay is a private island with no commercial enterprise, guests only are allowed to visit.

Situated 400 yards offshore is a 70 mile long live coral reef, with clumps of live coral within 20 yards of the Summercamp beach. A Bahamian reef park is adjacent to Scotland Cay.

Your neighbors on Scotland Cay would typically be from the United States (Colorado to Maine to Florida), and also Canada and Europe. Christmas and July 4th are the busiest times on the island with around 20 families present. Usually there are less than 15 homes occupied at any one time. There are 3 full time resident homeowner couples. Marina live-aboards are not allowed. Home rentals are discouraged.

Scotland Cay's island manager is present 5 days a week to direct our maintenance staff and help homeowners solve any problems with their property. The Scotland Cay homeowners association is elected annually by homeowners. The 2008 homeowners association assessment is $1650.

Scotland Cay has its own private 3600' paved runway for the convenience of residents and their guests. Fly in and fly out!
Scotland Cay features some of the most beautiful beaches in the Bahamas and Summercamp itself is situated on its own 300 feet of white sandy shore. Just 3 minutes away by golf cart is found the gorgeous lagoon shown below.
